We are a volunteer organization that has worked over the past years to restore Holy Cross Cemetery and its historic Our Lady of Sorrows Chapel which was “built in a day” on August 31, 1843, in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada.
Please join us in the restoration either as a volunteer labourer, and/or as a donor. Both are needed in this important and necessary effort to preserve an important historic place for the people of Halifax, for Canadians, and all people of Irish descent.
Volunteer your labour: Saturdays, 8:30am to 12:30pm – June through October
Come to Holy Cross Cemetery every Saturday morning at 8:30 from June through the end of October, and we’ll find you a job that fits your energy and fitness levels, your talents and interests. We supply everything, including gloves, tools and refreshments, so all you need to do is show up in your work clothes. Ask for Brian O’Brien.
Need a drive? Drop us a line early in the week using the contact form below and we may be able to have you picked up and dropped back home.
